In her debut book, Rubi Orozco Santos presents a bilingual collection of poetry and prose centered on the history of nixtamalization and its practice by culture bearers in the El Paso borderland area. The book also contains cover art by LxsDos, internationally recognized for celebrating and honoring the experience of working people on the border, and photographs by community activist and food justice advocate Victoria Quevedo. This second printing (Summer 2019) includes bonus material.
